Well the bubble seems to have really burst around Sepp Blatter as the 79 year old was suspended by FIFA for a 90 day period by the FIFA ethics’ committee.
Swiss authorities are currently investigating Sepp Blatter over alleged payments made to UEFA president, Michel Platini and alleged illegal sale of broadcasting rights of the 2010 FIFA world cup. Klauss Stohlker announced on behalf of the committee today as the investigations forced FIFA to convene its ethics’ committee and put the Swiss administrator on the sidelines for 90 days. “The news was communicated to the president this afternoon,” Stohlker told BBC Sport. “Sepp Blatter is calm. Remember he is the father of the ethics committee. This is provisional for 90 days but he is not actually suspended. The committee has not yet made a decision and their meetings continue.”
Provisional or not, Sepp Blatter will not be functioning as the president of FIFA until January and in February, new elections will hold to select a new president.
