Chris Rock to host 2016 Oscars
Comedian and actor Chris Rock has been announced as the host for the 2016 Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars.
It would be his second time of hosting the event. “I’m so glad to be hosting the Oscars,” Rock said. “It’s great to be back.”
“Chris Rock is truly the MVP of the entertainment industry,” Academy Awards producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin said in a statement. “Comedian, actor, writer, producer, director, documentarian — he’s done it all. He’s going to be a phenomenal Oscar host!”
Rock first hosted the Oscars in 2005, and now joins an elite group that includes Whoopi Goldberg and Ellen DeGeneres as people who have hosted the Oscars twice.
