Will Smith Receives Major Backlash For His Hideous Nigerian Accent In “Concussion” Trailer And We’re Not Sorry For Him

Will Smith has received major backlash for his Nigerian accent in new movie trailer “Concussion”.

The Hollywood actor was cast in the role of Dr Bennett Omalu, a Nigerian forensic pathologist.

Will Smith who is taking a major role in the upcoming movie, decided to put his best in the feature.

But clearly, his best was not good enough.

The Grammy award winner tried to pull a Nigerian accent and failed woefully at it.

In the Trailer, Smith can be seen trying to come forward with what he believes is useful information and the NFL tries to stop him meanwhile.

But what may be stopping thousands of Nigerians from seeing this movie when it starts showing is the fake accent Mr Smith puts up.

We are not sure how hard it was for the Producers to cast a Nigerian (seeing as there are numerous talented Nigerians in Hollywood) in this role but what we are sure of is it is quite hard for Will Smith to understand that we do not sound like a caveman coming to America for the first time.

This is not the first time Hollywood is making a movie based on what they think we sound like and we wonder when this would stop?

Would you be seeing this when it hits theatres?

  1. And he just gave $150K to Farrakhan. “The Nation of Islam under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is the catalyst for the growth and development of Islam in America”. From Farrakhan’s website.
