Paris Saint Germain defender, Thiago Silva has revealed that PSG are desperate to win the UEFA Champions league this season and have made it their number one priority.

The French club picked up the domestic treble last year, clearing out every trophy except the UEFA champions league which has eluded them so far. The French champions reached the last eight in the last three tournaments but have been unable to progress beyond that stage and Thiago Silva told reporters that PSG have taken steps to ensure Champions league success this season as they look to better their performances from the bench and onto the pitch. “We want to win Ligue 1 as quickly as possible to be able to concentrate on our principle objective: the Champions League,” Thiago Silva told the Gazzetta dello Sport. The Brazilian captain of the side also talked about the strength of the club during the interview “We are better than in previous seasons. In the Champions League, we know we’ve got to take a jump in concentrations from Ligue 1. Everyone will be more motivated. We have two strong players in each position. There’s not one who is stronger and the other is weaker, but two players of the same level.” Former Manchester United winger, Angel Di Maria also Echoed Thiago Silva’s words “I have already won the Champions League with Real Madrid and I want to do the same thing with PSG,” he declared at his presentation. Paris Saint-Germain know that they would have to do better than their runs to the quarterfinals in previous seasons and they look set to go.

Paris Saint-Germain kick off their UEFA champions league campaign against Malmo FF as they look to win the trophy that has eluded them so far in their illustrious history.
