David Moyes was appointed Manchester United manager after “several very desirable candidates were unavailable”, Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed.
In Sir Alex Ferguson’s second book since retiring from coaching he outlines the selection process which led to Moyes’ taking over from him when he retired in 2013.
He said in his latest book titled ‘Leading’
“I asked Pep to phone me before he accepted an offer from another club but he didn’t and wound up joining Bayern Munich in July 2013.
“When we started the process of looking for my replacement, we established that several very desirable candidates were unavailable.”
