Bayern Munich’s CEO, Rummenigge has warned about a transfer tsunami, if the BuLi can’t compete with spending of the EPL.
The EPL is set to earn £5.136 billion in the next three years, thanks to TV rights and the bundesliga doesn’t have that much financial power.
The EPL spent a record breaking £870 million in the transfer summer, compared to £290 million spent by the bundesliga.
“This new English contract will dominate the market,” Rummenigge said.
“We have just seen the tip of the iceberg. The transfer tsunami will increase in strength and height.”
The current TV rights deal for the Bundesliga is worth 500m euros (£365m) per season, but Rummenigge would like that to at least double.
