It was a day that Real Madrid players would want to forget as Ronaldo and his teammates dominated the entire match but Kameni and his teammates did everything to keep them at bay and succeeded.
Ronaldo took 14 shots in the match but only managed to hit the target twice and when the Portuguese did hit the target, Kameni was on hand to make the save. Benzema also had a few opportunities but the defenders and goalkeeper of Malaga stood firm. Real Madrid lost Jesse Rodriguez early in the second half to an injury while Malaga were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute when Nordin Amrabat was sent off for elbowing Marcelo’s face. Real Madrid did put the ball in the net twice, via Ronaldo in the 8th minute and Isco in the 76th minute but both strikes were ruled out for offside.
Real Madrid have now been overtaken by Barcelona on the league table in La Liga and would be hoping to get back to winning ways when the UEFA champions league resumes on Tuesday and Wednesday.
