Real Madrid and Manchester United were unable to seal a deal for David De Gea on deadline day and both sides released statements blaming each other for the collapse of the deal. Three days later, still fuming that David De Gea is not a Manchester United player, Florentino Perez has taken another swipe at Manchester United
Real Madrid club President, Florentino Perez was reportedly very keen on De Gea and was quite disappointed with the way Manchester United conducted their business and told reporters in no unclesr term that it was Manchester United’s fault that the deal collapsed
“De Gea was very affected because he really wanted to come to Real Madrid,” Perez told Cadena Ser. “We don’t understand why they took eight hours to see the contracts and we don’t understand that if they wanted to negotiate, they waited until the last moment. We do not understand many things, but I’m not here to blame anyone. They [Manchester United] lack experience, because this same thing happened last year to [Fabio] Coentrao and Ander Herrera [with Athletic].”A very disappointed Perez told reporters that Real Madrid are happy with the squad they have right now and will try again next season for David De Gea.
De Gea has however been listed in Manchester United’s squads for the Premier league and Champions league this season even though he is yet to even sit on the bench this season.
