President Obama threw a glitzy state dinner for Chinese president Xi Jinping at the White House on Friday night.
And even though the black-tie event was to welcome the President and his wife Madame Peng Liyuan, the first lady of America, Michelle Obama did not fail to steal the spotlight.
The gorgeous Mrs Obama who rarely disappoints when it comes to the fashion realms, chose a dress by a Chinese-American designer, Vera Wang for the occasion.
Michelle Obama dazzled all night long in a custom-made, black off-the-shoulder mermaid gown complete with sheer sleeves and tulle flair.
Her Chinese counterpart, Madame Peng Liyuan who is also a fashion icon in her homeland, chose an embellished silk gown in a rich aquamarine hue. Which featured three-quarter-length sleeves, and boasted intricate beading.
The event was well attended by top level politicians and socialites in the likes of Facebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg and his pregnant wife Priscilla Chan, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Empire co-creator Lee Daniels and a host of others.
With singer Neyo, whose father is part Chinese on ground to entertain the guests.
Long story short, we all know who everyone’s eyes were on at the dinner, no other than the gorgeous Michelle Obama. Even the president gave her a thumbs up for an outfit well put together.
