Paris Saint Germain defender Maxwell has expressed his surprise at the criticism teammate, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is receiving for his early season form.
Ibrahimovic has found the net only twice in six outings for PSG and he’s missing that sharpness in front of goal, ever since returning from injury.
Maxwell feels Ibrahimovic still has a lot to offer and sees no reason to criticise the 33-year-old Sweden international.
“For me it’s funny to hear what everybody is saying about Ibrahimovic after all he has done in his career and even this season,” he told reporters.
“He has been injured and is still lacking a bit of rhythm, but he has found his confidence and us scoring goals. He only needs to play some more games.
“It is ridiculous to criticise a player like Ibrahimovic now.”
