10 gang-rape teen in hotel room
A 17-year old girl in India has filed a complaint with police after being gang-raped by 10 men.
6 of the men — who lured the girl into the hotel room in the guise of a job offer — have been arrested.
“She was then confined to a hotel where 10 people including the manager took turns to rape her. She managed to escape last week and file a complaint in Delhi,” said one of the police officers.
“On August 30, the couple allegedly took the girl to Jaipur and booked her into a hotel where one of the accused, Mahesh, works as a manager. Mahesh and his associates allegedly raped her in turns over several hours until the girl managed to escape. She took a bus and reached Delhi on August 31,” a police officer revealed.
“Based on her complaint we have arrested six men and we are studying the CCTV footage from the hotel to nab the rest of the suspects,” he added.
“The six persons arrested so far in connection with the incident have been identified as Rocky, Rani, Mahesh, Anil, Arjun and Kamal,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikramjit Singh confirmed.
India has long drawn international uproar over the frequency and spread of rape attacks, with a fatal rape of a student in 2012 a landmark case.
