Jega’s brother dies in Hajj stampede
Former Independent National Electoral Commission chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega has lost his brother, Justice Abdulkadir Jega to the stampede in Mina, Saudi Arabia.
Justice Jega, who was a judge of the Court of Appeal, was a member of the Kebbi state delegation to the pilgrimage.
His body was found at a mortuary in Mina, according to The Punch.
The Taraba state’s Islamic leader to the Hajj, Abbas Ibrahim, also lost his life in the stampede.
Ibrahim, who is also the Emir of Zing, also lost 2 wives in the fatal incident.
The Chairman of the Taraba state pilgrim’s board, Hamman Tukur, confirmed the Emir’s death.
A list of all the Nigerians who lost their lives is still being compiled by Hajj officials.
