Nigeria’s under-17 side, popularly called the Golden Eaglets picked up a 2-1 win over the Under-17 side of Brazil in the Suwon stadium in South Korea.

The Golden Eaglets won the game in the first half as Kingsley Michael and Chukwudi Agor scored early in the game to give the Brazilians no chance in the game. Emmanuel Amuneke’s nerves were settled early as Kingsley Micheal pounced on a rebound to put the Golden Eaglets in the lead in the 20th minute. In the 32nd minute, the Golden Eaglets turned their dominance into a goal again as Oshimen played a long ball into Agor who took the ball in stride and finished coolly to make it 2-0. The Golden Eaglets are guilty of stepping down the pace in the second half and allowing the Brazilians take control of the game. The Brazilians though lacked creativity in the final third and were frustrated by the Golden Eaglets who were not exactly defending well. In the 81st minute, Enogela suffered the ignominy of scoring an own goal.

The Golden Eaglets are currently in a friendly tournament in South Korea as they prepare for the World cup qualifiers.
