FG Declares October 1st Public Holiday

In order to mark Nigeria’s 55th Independence celebration, the Federal Government has declared Thursday, October 1, 2015 as public holiday.

This declaration was announced by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, on behalf of the federal government in a statement Monday by the Ministry’s Director of Press, Yusuf Isiaka.

The perm sect, who congratulated all Nigerians both at home and abroad, also thanked them for their support for President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts towards building a peaceful, united and virile nation.

Magaji further urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country.
