Douglas Costa: I Have Replaced Ribery

share on:

Brazilian winger Douglas Costa has told the world he is ready to step up and replace French winger Frank Ribery in Bayern Munich.

Last season, Ribery made only 15 appearances for Bayern Munich due to injuries and has been out since March this year. Bayern brought in Douglas Costa for 30 million Euros to fill the void usually left by Ribery or Robben when injured and the Brazilian has done very well from the pre-season to the early parts of this season and Douglas Costa is set to step into the big leagues and replace Ribery long time. “Guardiola has trusted me from the beginning 100 per cent,” he told reporters. “I felt immediately at ease in the team. I think I have filled the gap that Ribery has left since his injury well. I have to use this opportunity. When I came to Bayern, everyone was talking about Arjen Robben and Ribery. I have given it my best”

Douglas Costa is currently on duty for Brazil and Ribery is still trying to get back to full fitness.
