Despite going without a Super Bowl trophy for 20 years, the Dallas cowboys have been listed by Forbes magazine as the most valuable sports club in the world ahead of Real Madrid and treble winners Barcelona.

The Dallas Cowboys are valued at 4 billion dollars and sit atop a pile of sports clubs following the release of Forbes list of most Valuable clubs in the NFL. The Dallas Cowboys were previously valued at 3.2 billion dollars but have seen their value increase following a few sponsorship and television rights deals in the last five months. Real Madrid who are valued at 3.26 billion dollars are now the second most valuable team in the world while the New York Yankees (3.2 billion dollars), Barcelona (3.16 billion dollars) and Manchester United (3.1 billion dollars) complete the top five. Other teams like the LA Lakers, the LA Dodgers and the New York Knicks also made the top 10 list which was released earlier this year.
