Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Chelsea goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois would be out for a long while as he will require surgery to his knee following a training injury.
Courtois picked up the injury in training on Wednesday after returning from the international break and Mourinho confirmed the injury to Courtois in a press conference earlier today. “Courtois was injured in a training session with the goalkeepers. I cannot tell you much, but he needs surgery in his right knee, he will be out for quite a long time, but I cannot be specific as to how long he will be out,” said the Chelsea boss. Courtois would be replaced by Asmir Begovic in the coming weeks and the Bosinan goalkeeper has been impressive in his showing so far and Begovic would be playing in the UEFA champions league. Mourinho has told the press that he has the utmost confidence in Begovic even though he admits that losing Courtois is a huge blow. Chelsea would go into their next set of matches with only one top goalkeeper and with a knee injury, Courtois could be out for a long time.
Bet they wish they didn’t sell Cech now.
