Bournemouth win first EPL home game
For the first time ever at Dean Court, AFC Bournemouth’s stadium, the team recorded a win in the English Premier League.
Bournemouth, who are playing in the Premier League for the first time ever, recorded a 2-0 win over Sunderland.
2 goals in the first 10 minutes from Callum Wilson and Matt Ritchie gave the home team the win.
Sunderland never seemed able to get anything from the game, and a red card to Younes Kaboul effectively ensured they’d remain rock bottom of the table.
Ritchie’s goal was a masterclass, a volley off the chest which went straight into the top corner.
“I wont forget that goal in a hurry,” said Ritchie. “The ball came down from quite a height, I managed to steady myself and got a sweet strike on it. As soon as I hit it, I knew it was good.”
Manager Eddie Howe added: “It was a fantastic strike from Matty. He sets himself up but I don’t think anyone saw the finish coming. It was sublime.”
