Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, David Beckham is reportedly said to be considering putting himself forward to play James Bond in the next 007 movie when Daniel Craig’s contract expires.
David Beckham made no secret of his desire to pursue and acting career and has already began actively pursuing it landing a speaking role in a movie directed by Guy Ritchie. Beckham also featured in the Christmas special of Only Fools and Horses last year. Sources close to the football legend leaked that Beckham was seriously considering indicating interest in playing as James Bond following the departure of Craig. Beckham who has also appeared in Outlaws, a 15 minute film produced by Belstaff is quoted telling Daily Star “Sport gets my heart beating faster. Acting is the same.”
Beckham who has a huge fan base in and outside England is already being urged by fans to take in the role of James Bond as Englishmen are itching to see their favorite celebrity on the screens as 007.
With all the criticism of recent James Bond movies, Beckham might just breathe some fresh air into the movies and even if he doesn’t, from a marketing perspective, expect a windfall in sales if David Beckham plays James Bond. Eon productions might want to really consider Beckham who is obviously more of a lady-charmer than Daniel Craig
