Manchester United suffered their first defeat of the season at Swansea as Van Gaal’ s side looked way off the pace in the match but the former AZ Alkmaar manager has told reporters that he would not rush into the market to buy players.
Van Gaal was quizzed by defenders after his side let a 1-0 lead slip as Swansea picked up the win and overtook Manchester United as they went into 4th position. Van Gaal has however maintained that his side is balanced enough and the “bump in the road” would not force him into the market. “No, it doesn’t have any effect,” he told Sky Sports. “When you are scouting players you know already, in advance, more than a month or two months, which players you can buy or not so it’s not in the last moment that we are in panic.” Van Gaal however bemoaned his side’s inability to use possession more effectively. “When you see the game I think we were the dominant team but you have to score more and you don’t have to concede the goals.”
Van Gaal might not want to panic buy but every football fan and analyst in the world is of the opinion that Manchester United need two or three more signings in order to challenge in Europe and in England this season.
