Delta State University, Abraka has expelled 21 students for offences such as impersonation and leaving the examination halls without permission with answer booklets, while 129 others have been suspended for various examination malpractices in the last 2-8 semesters.
This was contained in the summary of the report of the disciplinary committee for second semester examination of regular programmes and first semester of weekend degree programmes, which was published in the institution’s bulletin.
According to publications on its official website, the 129 students were rusticated for cheating and taking extraneous materials into examination halls, forgery of receipt and identity cards.
The report further revealed that a total of 12 students were discharged and acquitted for the lack of facts, five were warned for insufficient evidence while one was to face a security panel to ascertain the source of his unauthorized students’ identity cards.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor V.F. Peretomode, on behalf of Senate has received, considered and approved the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC) held on 4th June, 2015 on the underlisted students who appeared before it to defend themselves against the various alleged acts of gross misconduct and breach of matriculation oath.
All penalized students are requested to ensure that they serve the penalty(ies) indicated against their names accordingly.
