Project Fame has produced quite a number of Artistes and some of them are responsible for the biggest hits you’ve ever heard on Nigerian TV/Radio.

And why some of your A listers did not have to go through talent shows to produce hits, the popular talent show was responsible for these guys’ success…

Dare more popularly referred to as “Darey” was the first Nigerian contestant to make a mark on Project Fame. In the first ever edition of the talent show, which was sponsored by Mnet and which had a 24 hour viewing for the number of days it ran for, Dare came third.

Asides from being an amazing Singer, he got the attention of the continent after coming third place.

With several hits like Fuji, Escalade, Carry dey go and more recently, Asiko Laiye, the project fame alumn has gone ahead to take his place at the top.

Iyanya won Project Fame in 2008 and even though it took a while before he had his first big break, the Singer has become one of the biggest singing sensations in Nigeria.

After Kukere was produced in 2011, Iyanya’s career has not been the same.


Praiz in 2015

Praiz did not win Project Fame during the period he contested. Iyanya might have won in 2008 but Praiz has dropped several hits in a few years, enough for us to know he might not have gotten his fame from the talent show but he has gotten it from his hard work after the show.

In 2010, Chidinma emerged winner of the MTN project fame. A few hits later, the petite beauty took her place as one of the biggest hitmakers in Nigeria.
