Swansea beat Manchester United 2-1 at the liberty Stadium after coming back from being a goal down despite playing without the in-form Jefferson Montero

Swansea City were the only side that completed a double over Manchester United last season (beating the Old Trafford outfit home and away). Swansea City beat Manchester United again today after turning out a wonderful comeback performance after Mata gave Manchester United the lead. Following a first half in which Manchester United dominated the game but Swansea created the most clear cut chances, Manchester United finally took the lead in the 48th minute when Shaw’s run ended in a cross that was missed by everyone except Mata who came in at the back post to fire the ball home to make it 1-0. Swansea were on the up after that and in the 61st minute when Ayew rounded off a fantastic counter attack nodding home Sirgudsson’s cross past Romero to become the first opposition player to beat the Argentine goalkeeper since he joined Manchester United. And five minutes later, Swansea were in front as Gomis held off Smalling before finishing smartly under Romero to make it 2-1. Manchester United manager, Van Gaal tried to get back into the game, throwing in Fellaini and Carrick but were unable to equalize and ended up losing the game.

Manchester United have lost their unbeaten start to the season but Swansea have maintained theirs and are now placed inside the top four, pushing Manchester United into 5th position.

Another poor performance by Wayne Rooney would definitely draw questions as to the England forward’s role in the team as he was slow on the ball, slow to the ball and indecisive when he was handed chances.
