Real Madrid have decided to end their pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea for this summer at least. The Madrid giants are set to offer the Spanish shot stopper a sign on fee of 12 million pounds if he sees out his Manchester United contract according to the Daily Mirror
Real Madrid spent most of the summer trying to bring De Gea to the club and the 24 year old goalkeeper had told Manchester United that he wanted a move to Real Madrid. Manchester United refused to let the player leave, insisting that they wanted a befitting fee for his services but with one year left on the former Atletico Madrid man’s contract, Manchester United were always at a disadvantage. Real Madrid have now decided to do the smart thing and allow him see out his contract with the Red Devils and then leave the club for free and rather than pay a sum in excess of 30 million pounds for the player, Real would now only have to pay De Gea a sign on fee.
De Gea has been left out of the two matches Manchester United have played so far this season as Van Gaal claimed the goalkeeper lacked the focus to feature right now. Manchester United are now almost certain to lose De Gea either this season or next.
