Project Fame 8.0: Anderson Gets Another Chance

The excitement and tempo of the Project Fame show seems to have been turned up with the exit of two of the contestants from the last elimination show. It came as a shock to many when Anderson was given the boot but the show continued nevertheless. The rest of the contestants were fired up in hopes of keeping their dreams alive on MTN Project Fame West Africa, as they were ready to thrill the audience and impress the judges from the repertoire of best pop hits of all time they would be performing.

The fifth nomination show commenced with an impressive performance of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Because of You’ by Joy and she was closely followed by Arewa who gave a believable performance of ‘Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart’ by Alicia Keys. Deinde stepped on stage next and surprised quite a number of people with his performance of Backstreet Boys’ As Long As You Love Me’ as he went through the song without forgetting his lyrics. Chike was up next and he sang ‘Say You, Say Me’ by Lionel Richie.

After these set of performances, it was obvious that the contestants were ready to face the challenges of the competition with their excellent performances. Pearl stepped on stage next to sing Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space’, while Oluchi gave a good account of herself on Madonna’s song ‘Take A Bow’. Kumi gave a good delivery of ‘From This Moment’ by Shania Twain just as was not left behind as he sang ‘If You Are Not The One’ by Daniel Beddingfield. Ada was last to perform and she sang Celine Dion’s ‘That’s The Way It Is’.

The night was however not over as in an unexpected move, right before the judges delivered their verdict on the night’s performances the hosts – Joseph and Bolanle announced that after much consideration, and based on the values and credibility of the show, Anderson, one of the evictees from the last elimination show will be given a second chance and recalled to the competition. In the middle of the excitement, Anderson was called up to perform ‘Story Of My Life’ by One Direction for the second time.

At the end, the judges announced that all the contestants were once again placed on probation.
