Roma have confirmed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Mohamed Salah on loan, with a view at a permanent transfer.
The Egypt international spent half of last season on loan with Fiorentina, they were hoping to retain him on loan next season with an option to buy.
But the player’s agent said he was free to return to Chelsea. With Fiorentina threatening a legal suit, the 23-year-old has joined Roma on loan with the capital club paying €5 million.
“I think Roma are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I’m happy to be in this team,” he told the Giallorossi’s in-house TV channel.
“I think everybody here has ambition and everybody wants to win the title.
“Everybody will give their best to make the fans happy.”
