Nigerian Universities Curricula Are Outdated, Teacher/Student Ratio Poor – NUC

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has revealed that the syllabuses of courses studied in Nigerian universities are outdated, adding that the teacher-student ratio is also not up to standard.

The Executive Secretary of the commission, Professor Julius Okojie, made this known when the Computer Professionals Council of Nigeria (CPN) paid him a courtesy visit Abuja.

He said the major challenges affecting quality teaching in universities included poor teacher-student ratio, outdated curriculum, lack of effective computer software and hardware development, archaic system, insecurity, examination malpractices and relevance of subject thought.
