Too late maybe. Neymar has admitted to making mistakes with Brazil at the Copa America, but insists he has seen the error of his ways.

The Brazilian forward saw his participation in the Copa cut short after receiving a red card for a headbutt on Murillo of Colombia.

Neymar was punished with a four-match ban for this gross indiscipline, but insists he has seen the error of his ways.

“I can’t feel frustrated because it was my fault and my mistake,” he said. “I did things wrong and I have learnt my lesson.”

Neymar’s misery was compounded when he recently contracted mumps, before making his return in Barcelona’s 1-0 victory over Malaga on Saturday.

“I felt good against Malaga,” he continued. “I was surprised I came back so quickly and felt that good on the pitch.

“It was difficult watching the Super Cup matches at home but it’s great to be back now and playing with my team-mates.”
