Sokoto offers cleanliness cash prize
There is no better way to motivate most Nigerians than money, and the Sokoto state government knows that.
The state today announced a cash prize of N1 million for any district determined to be the cleanest in the state.
The incentive aims to promote cleanliness and preservation of the environment in the state.
State governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal announced the prize at the commencement of the state’s environmental sanitation programme.
Tambuwal said the sanitation exercise would ensure regular and speedy evacuation of refuse in the Sokoto metropolis in particular and all parts of the state.
The state also established a Department of Waste Management for waste collection, disposal and mapping.
