Olympique Marselle manager Marcelo Bielsa has resigned after the first match of the season.
Marsielle lost their first match of the season at home to Caen, and Bielsa announced his resignation in the post-game press conference.
“I have resigned from my post as manager of Marseille,” Bielsa announced, barely one year after taking charge of the team.
“I have finished my work here, I will return to my country,” said 60-year Bielsa, who guided the team to 4th place last season.
“I thank the fans for always being behind me during games and on a daily basis.”
“I am sad and frustrated. I cannot accept the situation of instability at the club,” added Bielsa.
