Marseille completed their pre-season preparations on the front foot after picking up an impressive 2-0 victory over UEFA champions league finalists, Juventus in Marseille.

Olympique Du Marseille showed a master class in counter attacking as Juventus were obviously missing the drive of Carlos Tevez in attack this evening. Alessandiri gave Marseille the lead in the 35th minute following some good work in the midfield and things went from bad to worse for juventus as Stephan Lichsteiner was shown a red card just before half time. Juventus looked for an equalizer all through the second half but it was not forthcoming and in the 84th minute, Abdel rounded off a swift counter for Marseille with a goal to seal the victory.

Juventus are heading into the season full of confidence despite the defeat at the hands of a much improved Marseille side
