Manchester United Miss Out On Pedro, Turn Attention To Mane

In one of the most surprising U-Turns of this transfer window, Pedro of Barcelona is now set to sign for Chelsea after a deal to Manchester United broke down. Louis Van Gaal is moving quickly to remedy the damage as Manchester United are set to make a bid for Southampton’s Sadio Mane.

Sadio Mane who joined Southampton from RB Salzburg last summer has quickly become a fan favorite at Southampton where he has influenced games both on the flanks and in a central role as an attacking midfielder. Mane holds the record for the fastest hat-trick in the premier league ever and Manchester Unite are desperately in need of his talents despite already adding Memphis Depay who shone brightly at the UEFA champions league stage against Club Brugge to their side. Ed Woodward claims that Van Gaal decided to end his interest in Pedro after growing frustrated with the time it took to complete the transfer, but you get the feeling that it was Pedro who decided to move to Chelsea after all, the player was set to get a bigger role at a grander stage in Stamford Bridge. Manchester United would be up against it now as Southampton have made it abundantly clear that they have no interest in selling Mane after a meeting with Manchester United officials.

Van Gaal is slowly becoming the new Brendan Rodgers, following in the Liverpool Manager’s footsteps in raiding Southampton of their players as the Dutch tactician has already brought in Shaw and Scneiderlin to his side. Rodgers is still the king though, bringing in Lallana, Lambert, Lovren and Clyne to his side in just two seasons.

Manchester United are set to miss out on another talent from Spain as Otamendi is set for Manchester City and Pedro, Chelsea.
