The actress made this known at a Disney expo on Saturday in an interview with People.

“I’m really dying to be in a comedy,” the Oscar-winning actress said. “I’d love to be in a love story! How about some of that?”

Lupita is staring in 3 Disney movies: 2015’s Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and 2016’s The Jungle Book and The Queen of Katwe.

“I’ve been lucky to work so extensively with Disney,” she said. “Star Wars is another world altogether. And to be able to have that experience and be a part of that continuation of Han Solo and Luke and Leia’s journey is really a blessing, to be able to play a small part in that. And then Jungle Book is another world altogether as well.”

“I really enjoyed that process – playing the mother of this boy (Mowgli), and the love between a human and a wolf was something really cool to explore,” she said.

Queen of Katwe, which is in our real world, and again is a magical and real story of a girl who had a dream to be a chess master,” she said.

“And through hard work and complete commitment to it she went against all odds and achieved that and that’s something I really believe in.”

  1. Wow. Glad this made Wikipedia.. She has a desire to star in a comedy movie. So does just about every other person who has seen one. Must’ve been a slow news day. Glad to hear about her monumental role as Mowgli’s mother too. I thought the point of the jungle book was that Mowgli’s mother existed for a brief time? Ahhh, here’s your lifetime achievement award. Glad to hear about your praise for being steadfast and dedicated and completing a movie. Good job! Hard work! Sure her life was very rough but we don’t have to pay her on the back for tying her shoes and showing up to work, do we?
