Liverpool Beat AFC Bournemouth With Controversial Goal

While Christian Benteke was onside, Phillipe Coutinho was clearly offside and attempted to play the ball when Christian Benteke scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool beat AFC Bournemouth at Anfield to continue their perfect start to the season.

Bournemouth started the game brightly and even had a goal disallowed in the 5th minute when Elphick was ruled to have climbed on Lovren before nodding the ball into the net. Liverpool grew into the game after the disallowed goal and piled some pressure on Bournemouth who were playing their first away game in the Premier League and in the 26th minute, Liverpool came up with some clever play from a corner kick before Henderson whipped in a deadly looking cross, Coutinho who was offside moved and confused the goalkeeper allowing Benteke to steal in and prod the ball home from and onside position. Liverpool dominated the first half but collapsed in the second half but Bournemouth were unable to take advantage of their possession as Liverpool were able to hold on to the lead.

Bournemouth have nothing to be ashamed of as they put on a good display against a strong Liverpool side who have now joined Manchester City, Manchester United and Leicester City on 6 points
