Kogi State University Set To Go On Strike
After suspending its strike action in May, the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Kogi State University is set to resume it.
If the government failed to honor their agreement to pay staff unpaid allowances, the strike action would commence on the 1st of September.
This was made clear by the acting chairman of the union, Dr. Gbenga Aina.
Aina claimed the government had reneged on their argument, compelling the lecturers to resume their strike action.
“As a union, our objective is to see that the standard of education in the institution does not fall below requirements and also ensure that the rights of our members are not trampled upon.”
“We are parents too and we do not like it when we go on strike,” he said.
