Jasper Cillessen has been linked to Manchester United all summer but Manchester United have not made an official bid for the goalkeeper and the Dutch shot stopper has told reporters that he would not be reuniting with Louis Van Gaal at Manchester United.
Van Gaal is reportedly a fan of Cillessen and views the Ajax goalkeeper as the perfect replacement for David De Gea. But Van Gaal’s capture of Romero eased the pressure on the Dutch manager and his pursuit of Cillessen seemed to lose momentum. When asked about it today, the 28 year old told reporters that all he knew about were rumors and he had not been contacted by Manchester United over any deal “As far as I know it [interest from Manchester United] has never been a thing,” Cillessen told NOS. “I, the club, or my agent have never heard anything. As for me, this season begins and ends at Ajax.” Cillessen would be looking towards another successful season with Ajax.
