Ahead of today’s clash at the Emirates, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has told reporters that he feels no sympathy for Liverpool who would have to cope this season without Raheem Sterling.
Liverpool have lost their two key players, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling in two seasons to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively, Arsene Wenger famously tried to sign Suarez by offering the Merseyside club one £40,000,001 for the players signature which Liverpool rejected one season before the Uruguayan joined Barcelona. Arsene Wenger still feels bad about that and told reporters when he was quizzed about Liverpool’s situation without Sterling who forced Liverpool to sell him. “Liverpool is in a position they can make their own decisions,” he told reporters. “They refused to sell us Suarez, so I cannot feel too much sympathy for them. Wenger went on to hail Liverpool’s purchase of Firmino and Milner before telling the press that his side was ready for the match.
