There is one thing I understand from yesterday’s Europa League play-off match between Odd and Dortmund. Dortmund became shocked way too fast.
Thomas Tuchel, Dortmund manager has said his team were mentally weak against Norwegian side Odd.
Dortmund got the shock of their life when they conceded a goal 14 seconds into the match and before the half hour mark, were 3-0 down.
Aubameyang was instrumental in Dortmund’s comeback, as he was key yo restoring parity after 75 minutes, before Mkhitaryan headed in a late winner to complete the dramatic comeback.
Despite the win, Tuchel has accused his side of being mentally weak, after their defense fell apart.
“We weren’t prepared for what happened at the start, mentally we were not strong enough,” Tuchel said.
“I was horrified at how easy we fell and conceded the goals. We will need to be much better.
“But we showed morale in the second half, and I am pleased for that. In the end we deserved the win, and actually the score was too low on our part.”
