Bayern Munich Win Audi Cup: Beat Real Madrid 1-0

Bayern Munich have successfully defended the Audi Cup they won in 2013, beating Real Madrid 1-0 in what was by far the best encounter of the pre-season Tournament.

In what was a genuine back and forth contest Bayern Munich to gain the upper hand in the closing stages of the first half as Muller hit the post after his shot deflected off Sergio Ramos and left Keylor Navas beaten. The second half proceeded in the same way the first ended with Real looking to soak up pressure and hit Bayern on the break. Bayern finally got their goal as Douglas Costa delivered in an angled cross in the closing stages of the game allowing Lewandowski to sneak in front of Navas and poke the ball home

Real Madrid who were without Ronaldo and Benzema lacked the bite on the counter that the two forwards possess while the likes of Douglas Costa, Muller and Gotze are showing that Bayern can survive without Robben and Ribery and Vidal is also showing he can more than fill the void left by Schweinsteiger
