City now have a higher chance of getting De Bruyne after Bayern ruled themselves out from the race for the winger via their Press Officer.
Last season’s Bundeliga player of the year, De Bruyne has been linked with City for a while, with the EPL side offering to buy him for £50 million and Bayern have been named suitors for the Belgium international.
But Markus Horwick, Bayern’s press officer has said it was decided at board level that they won’t bid for the winger. This obviously has no impact on the player’s ability, Bayern must be tired of stealing players from the other clubs.
“We definitely won’t do anything about signing De Bruyne,” he told SID. “The board already decided this a long time ago.”
