Arsenal and Liverpool played a back and forth game for ninety minutes and could not be separated as Petr Cech and Simon Mignolet got the better of both sets of forwards at every challenge.
Arsenal started the game brightly moving the ball around with Santi Cazorla controlling the midfield and looking to feed Sanchez and Giroud. Liverpool however grew into the game and created some good chances of their own even though Christian Benteke still looked like he was on a different wavelength from the rest of the Liverpool squad. The second half was a more fiery affair but ultimately produced less chances as Arsenal had more possession of the ball but Liverpool did well choke Arsenal’s key players all around the pitch. Arsenal threw on Alex Oxelade Chamberlain to liven things up but still failed to find the back of the net while Brendan Rodgers handed a first premier league appearance to 18 year old Rossitter.
Liverpool’s result now leaves Manchester City as the only team with a perfect record this season while Arsenal have now picked up one win, one draw and one defeat this season with Petr Cech finally keeping a clean sheet in the premier league for Arsenal for the first time.
