Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has teased that Juventus Midfielder Arturo Vidal is edging closer to the Allianz Arena.
The Bavarians have reportedly agreed a €40 million fee with the Old Lady and are keen on getting the Chilean international who they tried getting in 2011, when he was at Bayer Leverkusen.
Rummenigge is convinced they can get their man, but insists the deal is yet to be finalized.
“I can’t confirm Vidal’s signing – yet,” the 59-year-old told Sky Germany. “We have to wait a bit.
“Michael Reschke [Bayern’s technical director, who worked for Leverkusen until 2014] told me the truth about 2011: it was not the player but the club who blocked his move to Bayern.
“So, in the end, I hope Vidal will come to us. It is impossible that Vidal will join Bayern on our tour of China. Even the Bavarians can’t sign a player that fast.”
