Real Madrid have been ranked by Forbes magazine as the most valuable sports franchise in the world for the third consecutive year, edging out the New York Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys.
Real Madrid are believed to be valued at 3.26 billion dollars as they sat at top of the Forbes list for the top fifty most valuable sports franchises. The next footballing club on the list are Real Madrid’s arch rivals Barcelona who are valued at 3.16 billion dollars and come in fourth behind the Yankees and the Cowboys. Manchester United are in fifth place valued at 3.1 billion dollars.
Los Angeles Lakers ($2.6 billion), New England Patriots ($2.6 billion), New York Knicks ($2.5 billion), Los Angeles Dodgers ($2.4 billion) and Washington Redskins ($2.4 billion) all made up the rest of the top ten.
