Manchester City have signed Raheem Sterling from Liverpool in a deal worth 49 million pounds making the 19 year old the most expensive English footballer till date.
After having two bids rejected, Manchester City finally offered 49 million euros for the teenager hey had desperately gone after all summer and the offer was too good for Liverpool to pass up as the Anfield side could no longer hold on to Sterling who had already rejected a contract offer from Liverpool. Manchester City moved swiftly to hash out personal terms with the player who then had his medicals and became a Manchester City player.
Sterling has surpassed Sergio Aguero as he becomes Manchester City’s most expensive signing and the transfer is great news for QPR, Sterling’s former club who are due to earn 20 percent of his sell on fee due to a clause which accompanied his 400,000 pound move to Liverpool in 2010. QPR who are in a dire financial crisis would earn about 9 million from the deal. Apparently there are no losers in this deal as Liverpool cashed in, Manchester City cashed out, QPR earned big and Sterling made his big move.
