NYSC Warns Institutions Against Mobilisation Of Students Not Accredited

Notice to all Institutions in Nigeria!! The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has directed that only the names of suitable qualified candidates with JAMB results and appropriate names of accredited courses issued to the students and offered by them should be sent to it for mobilization, adding that results released and acknowledged by the senate of the institutions as well as soft and hard copies of the names of students are other considerations.

This is coming on the heels of a rumour that names of illegal candidates were sent to its headquarters for mobilisation, thereby creating series of problems.

This was announced during the 2015 and 6th combined policy meeting on admissions to degree, Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) National Diploma and National Innovation Diploma- awarding institutions, via the director-general of the NYSC, Brig Gen Johnson Olawumi.

Speaking through a NYSC official, Mr Fasanu Isaac, the DG said, “the emphasis of NYSC is to mobilise qualified graduates who have run a full term programme as part-time programmes are not accepted. They must not be sent for mobilisation. Students that have different courses offered with those on their statements of results will be demobilised,” he cautioned.
