NY Red Bulls 4-2 Chelsea: Begovic Suffers Nightmare Debut, As Chelsea Slump To Defeat

share on:

The unstoppable Chelsea lost their first International Champions Cup when they faced the New York Red Bulls losing 4-2.

Chelsea started the match with Courtois in goal and Remy up front. Remy opened the scoring for the blues, but spurned a chance at making it a brace.

The second half saw Begovic come on for his debut in a blues shirt and sadly it was abysmal. A defensive error involving a poor pass from Terry to Begovic, saw the new man beaten as Castellanos finished into an empty net.

Begovic was beaten again and this time by a 16-year-old, Tyler Adams headed in the goal, with Sean Davis making it a third from close range.

Hazard pulled one back, but that wasn’t enough to help Chelsea, as Davis did what Remy couldn’t do, score a brace. Chelsea’s defense fell apart.
