The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Kenneth Minimah, has disclosed that Boko Haram suspects, who have being under detention in Nigerian military cells for some months will be released today.

This disclosure was made known at this year’s Nigeria Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) in Maiduguri, Borno.

Minimah revealed that investigation confirmed that the suspects were innocent.

He said the choice to observe this year’s NADCEL in Maiduguri was to give a morale booster to the troops on ground that are fighting the Boko Haram insurgency, adding that it was logical to have a low-key celebration since the Military Command and Control Centre (MCCC) had been relocated to Maiduguri.
