This is unheard of, until today that is but apparently, in the Pacific games, Micronesia have been breaking records as they conceded 114 goals in the 3 games they played at the tournament.
Micronesia were in group A in the Pacific games and were drawn alongside Fiji, Vanuatu and Tahiti, not exactly heavyweights of global football but in the opening game against Tahiti, Micronesia conceded 30 goals and didn’t reply with a single goal. It was to get worse as Fiji shipped 38 goals past Micronesia, who couldn’t even muster a single shot on target in the match. Vanuatu simply put the final nail on the coffin for the Pacific country when they beat Micronesia 48-0, Micronesia didn’t do themselves any favors as the fielded an outfield player for the second half of the match against but at the at point, it couldn’t get worse as they had already conceded 21 goals in the game. This has to be a new world record for most goals conceded in a single tournament.
Believe it or not, Micronesia did not break the record for most goals conceded in a match as that record is held by Madagascan side Stade Olymique L’Emyrne who conceded 149 goals at the hands of AS Adema in the Madagascan league in 2002.
