Olympique Du Marseille have reached an agreement with former Arsenal midfielder, Abou Diaby that would see the 29 year old join the ligue 1 side on a free transfer.
Abou Diaby left Arsenal in July as his contract with the North London club expired following an injury ridden stay at the club and has been a free agent since then. Diaby rejected a contract offer from West Bromwich Albion last week and today, Olympique Marseille have announced a deal which would see the midfielder return to France after almost a decade away from his home country and almost 50 injuries. Diaby’s contract with the French club is on a pay as you play basis. A statement released by the club is quoted saying “Olympique de Marseille and Abou Diaby reached an agreement in principle on Tuesday.”
Diaby was once tipped as the next Patrick Viera but injuries have stopped the the now 29 year old from fulfilling his true potential.
