Wayne Rooney Adnan Januzaj and Jesse Lingard were all on target for Louis Van Gaal’s men as Manchester United beat Barcelona 3-1 at the Levi Stadium in California in the International Champions Cup
Manchester United made it 3 wins out of three matches with an impressive performance over the reigning European champions and a counter attacking showing that was reminiscent of Lex Ferguson’s time in charge at Old Trafford. Manchester United took the lead in the 8th minute as Rooney jumped highest to nod in Ashley Young’s corner. Manchester United continued to look to attack on the break while Barcelona in their usual style controlled possession and looked to breach the Manchester United defence, Ashley young and Memphis Depay used their pace to full advantage. In the second half, Luis Suarez had two glorious chances to equalize but the post and De Gea denied the Uruguayan befor Jesse Lingard who came on as a substitute as Van Gaal swapped the entire 11 in the 63rd minute made it 2-0 to Manchester United in the 65th minute as he converted Balckett’s cross at the near post. Barcelona looked for a way back into the game as Manchester United looked to hit them on the counter and in the 90th minute, Rafina made it 2-1 with a stunning left footed Volley but two minutes later as Barcelona searched for an equalizer, Manchester United hit them on the break and Janizaj finished off the counter to make it 3-1 to Manchester United and complete the scoring.
Manchester United would now play Paris Saint-Germain in theif final game of the International Champions cup before while Barcelona still have dates with Chelsea and Fiorentina
